Leadership

Shidong Jia | CEO

Shidong Jia, MD, PhD, is the Founder and CEO of Predicine. Prior to founding Predicine, Shidong spearheaded the oncology biomarker strategies and drug & diagnostics co-development at Genentech. His previous work identified p110beta as novel drug target for PTEN-deficient tumors, a finding that laid the foundation for clinical development and testing of p110beta inhibitors in cancers. He previously held various senior research positions focusing on translational and clinical cancer research at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research and Harvard University. Shidong was awarded the P.A.R.T. Investigatorship Award from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Shidong holds a MD and PhD from Harbin Medical University and Peking Union Medical College, and completed postdoctoral training at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Harvard University.

Pan Du | President

Pan Du, PhD, is the Co-founder, President and CTO at Predicine. Pan is an expert in next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and oncology diagnostics. He has developed multiple widely used bioinformatics analysis software and has authored numerous publications, including several 1st authorship manuscripts that are cited over thousands times. Prior to Predicine, Pan was Principal Scientist at Roche Diagnostics and Senior Computational Biologist at Genentech. He was previously an Assistant Professor at Biomedical Informatics Center at Northwestern University. Pan holds a PhD with distinction in both Bioinformatics and Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University.

Linh H. Le | CFO

Linh Le joined Predicine as Chief Financial Officer in November 2021. He brings more than 2 decades of work experience in the healthcare space, stemming from several industry sectors including medical device, biopharmaceutical, and molecular diagnostics. Linh comes to Predicine from Ambry Genetics, where he served as Chief Operating Officer, leading key transformational changes that enabled scalability and operational excellence across the enterprise during his tenure. His prior experience includes Medtronic Diabetes Group, where he has held various leadership positions of increased responsibilities over a span of fourteen years. Before his time at Medtronic, Linh’s experiences include leadership roles at the Walt Disney Company and advisory services with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in operational and systems risk management. Lastly, Linh began his professional career in the assurance practice of KPMG, providing services in the technology and healthcare practices where he earned his CPA designation. Linh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University at Northridge. Linh was named LA Times CFO of the year in 2022.

• Transition manual workflows onto automated platforms

As a key cloud architecting and operations person on the Predicine team, this lead position focuses on leading and implementing Predicine’s business critical system and infrastructure cloud migration projects. Project management experience and interpersonal soft skills are as important as IT technical knowledge and expertise. This position can be close to one of the Predicine’s locations or fully remote to support company’s cloud migration and operations. In addition to tackling more complex processes and challenges, this individual contributor position is also expected to mentor other team members technically and act as a role-model and technical resource across the company.

The Privacy Counsel will drive the company’s compliance with privacy laws and regulations across the globe. The Privacy Counsel will have a broad range of responsibilities advising on company-wide initiatives impacting data protection, privacy, security, and other legal matters and report to the Corporate Counsel.

The Director of Clinical Operation reports to the Head of Clinical Development and is responsible for the execution and operation of the company’s global clinical trials, specifically for companion diagnostic (CDx) clinical trials, and activities related to clinical study design, preparation, execution, and operation.

What you will get to do:
• Leads and manages the operation and execution of clinical study process and procedure.
• Manages and collaborates with CRO or partner companies for study operation.
• Responsible for communication with clinical sites and sponsors.
• Supports a Dx study protocol preparation and submission to the IRB.
• Supports applications to appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. Breakthrough Device Designation and PMA).

• Experience of the liquid biopsy testing or next-generation sequencing (NGS) is desirable.
• Diagnostic IVD experience is preferred.
• Global Pharma clinical trial (>10 countries, >100 clinical sites) operation experience is required.
• CRO management experience is preferred.
• Experience with ISO 13485 and FDA medical device or IVD regulations is desirable.
• Experience and understanding of GCP, GCLP, and other clinical study related regulations and guidelines preferred.

As the Director of Automation, you will:
• Lead the development and integration of the automation systems and related software tools and coordinate related activities with all stakeholders.

Reagent Manufacturing Lead is responsible for setting up reagent manufacturing procedure, QC preproduce, supporting NGS assay development, reagent manufacturing automation development, supporting reagent management to ensure sufficient qualified reagents for the clinical and research laboratory operations.

What you will get to do:
• Provide technical leadership and support for reagents manufacturing and management for NGS lab and Covid lab.
• Lead in the development and revision of reagent manufacturing documentation like SOPs, batch records and material specifications.
• Ensure all operators/ manufacturing team members are proficiently trained on current and new procedures regarding manufacturing reagents, assembling kits, and qualification of assigned reagents, following Good Manufacturing Practices and documenting events following current Good Documentation Practices.
• Develop tools for tracking and trending reagent / RUO kit performance.
• Lead in interdepartmental activities with Lab Operations, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Supply Chain Management to ensure qualified reagents are always available for use.
• Support management of supply chain, including supplier quality, inventory update. Ensure manufacturing raw material and consumables are adequately stocked.
• Serve as operations core team member for new product pipeline projects collaborating with R&D in developing, transferring, scaling, and validating manufacturing processes and quality control test methods for release as part of Design Transfer.
• Oversee daily operations of the reagent manufacturing department including but not limited to scheduling, troubleshooting, and resolving technical and non-technical issues.

How you will get here :
• Master’s degree (or higher) in biological science or health-related discipline.
• At least 3 years of industry experience in reagents/ kit manufacturing. Experience in Next- Generation- Sequencing (NGS) highly preferred.
• Experience in ISO 13485 and/or GMP environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships with individuals and teams internally and externally with excellent problem-solving ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to details, and able to multi-task.
• Project Management Certification preferred.
• Previous experience with start-ups is a plus.

Summary of Position
As a member of the facilities team, you will support the day-to-day facilities matters for the Hayward CA site.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage assigned facilities projects in areas of the supply chain, shipping, and receiving.
• Execute assigned process for proactively ensuring that all lab and office facilities are operational and in good repair
• Maintain a schedule to back up and plan for lab maintenance support as needed
• Arrange for regular maintenance of equipment and internal systems (e.g. heating system, alarms, security cameras)
• Clean and maintain breakroom refrigerators including disinfection
• Coordinate office and parking space allocation when needed
• Keep track of regular and ad-hoc facility issues
• Research new services and appliances to facilitate operations
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Summary of position:
The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for providing quality oversight and hands-on support for the laboratory operation including Research Operation, Covid lab and NGS lab in Predicine. The Quality Assurance Specialist will work with IVD, R&D, Automation, Quality Assurance and Clinical Operations to recommend and lead the implementation of quality initiatives to ensure clinical compliance to US FDA and international regulatory requirement and guidance, including Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP), clinical laboratory requirements and accreditation standards (e.g., 42CFR493, ISO13485, College of American Pathologist, California and New York State…etc). The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for implementation and maintaining of the clinical quality systems necessary to support Predicine lab operations.

Job Responsibility/Descriptions:
• Works closely with Predicine QA group to create and maintains a Quality plan which will be compliant with FDA, ISO13485, CLIA, CAP and NYSDOH standards.
• Establishes, refines, implements, and maintains QMS systems, policies and procedures, and audit program for oversight of the company’s internal clinical operations.
• Manages internal audit process, reporting and CAPA management of Predicine functional areas that directly impact compliance to GCP, GCLP, and accreditation standards.
• Manages Deviations related to functional areas that directly impact compliance.
• Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) and provides advice and interpretations of regulations and guidelines.
• Participates in the review, audit and /or approval of essential documents.
• Supports the organization’s training program as it relates to GLP, GCLP and compliance.
• Partners with cross-functional stakeholders to drive regulatory inspections readiness activities and supports regulatory authority inspections.

Education, experience, and skills requirements:
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in life science or equivalent.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of establishing, refining, and operating Clinical Quality Assurance related systems in the CLIA/CAP/ NYSDOH laboratory.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a combination of clinical Quality Assurance and Clinical Operations roles within a regulated industry.
• In-depth knowledge of regulations and guidance supporting GCP, GCLP, CLIA. CAP, ISO13485, FDA and NYSDOH.
• Experience with IVD regulations, molecular biology and NGS are desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration skill and outstanding organizational skills.
• Be an effective and proactive communicator who maintains open dialogue with colleagues across functions and can articulate complex concepts and issues clearly.

The Sr Clinical Trial Manger / Clinical Manager reports to the Head of Clinical Development and is responsible for execution and operation of the company’s global clinical trials.
