Leadership

Shidong Jia | CEO

Shidong Jia, MD, PhD, is the Founder and CEO of Predicine. Prior to founding Predicine, Shidong spearheaded the oncology biomarker strategies and drug & diagnostics co-development at Genentech. His previous work identified p110beta as novel drug target for PTEN-deficient tumors, a finding that laid the foundation for clinical development and testing of p110beta inhibitors in cancers. He previously held various senior research positions focusing on translational and clinical cancer research at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research and Harvard University. Shidong was awarded the P.A.R.T. Investigatorship Award from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Shidong holds a MD and PhD from Harbin Medical University and Peking Union Medical College, and completed postdoctoral training at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Harvard University.

Pan Du | President

Pan Du, PhD, is the Co-founder, President and CTO at Predicine. Pan is an expert in next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, and oncology diagnostics. He has developed multiple widely used bioinformatics analysis software and has authored numerous publications, including several 1st authorship manuscripts that are cited over thousands times. Prior to Predicine, Pan was Principal Scientist at Roche Diagnostics and Senior Computational Biologist at Genentech. He was previously an Assistant Professor at Biomedical Informatics Center at Northwestern University. Pan holds a PhD with distinction in both Bioinformatics and Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University.

Jianjun Yu | CSO

Jianjun Yu, PhD, is the Chief Scientific Officer at Predicine. Prior to Predicine, Jianjun held various senior bioinformatics positions at Medivation, Genentech and Novartis. Jianjun is an expert in cancer genomics, target discovery & validation, clinical trial and biomarker development. He has authored numerous publications in New England Journal of Medicine and Cancer Cell, Nature, and Science. Jianjun holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from University of Michigan and a BS in Environmental Biology from Peking University.

Position

The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – NGS is responsible for performing high complexity laboratory testing (Next generation DNA sequencing) on patient specimens, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures, interpreting and reporting patient results. The Clinical Laboratory NGS Supervisor will work closely with Operational Director and Medical Director for supervision of personnel and the daily operations in the Clinical NGS Laboratory, including coaching and mentoring the laboratory staff, building effective teams, troubleshooting high complexity technical and non-technical problems, managing projects and meeting project deliverables, and understanding and implementing laboratory goals. He/She will also work closely with quality manager to comply with all applicable local, state and federal laboratory requirements.

Job Description

Predicine is looking for a Sales Associate to develop our COVID19 business for our high-sensitivity molecular and antibody COVID-19 testing products and services. The Sales Associate will work closely with the Head of Global Alliance Management and marketing, technical support teams to generate new leads, qualify opportunities, organize and facilitate meetings with potential clients, and close deals across a variety of client types. The right candidate will be superb comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have experience in the healthcare (and laboratory) industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a prioritized list of target clients across a variety of segments including health systems, state and local governments, universities, travel industries, retail chains, banks, etc.
• Generate and qualify new leads through proactive outreach efforts as well as management of inbound leads from existing customers in the territory
• Qualify leads, set up and facilitate initial conversations to understand clients’ goals and pain points and introduce them to understand Predicine’s COVID-19’s offering
• Work closely with the internal team foster existing leads in addition to working cross-functionally with colleagues across the Predicine team

The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – NGS is responsible for performing high complexity laboratory testing (Next generation DNA sequencing) on patient specimens, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures, interpreting and reporting patient results. Position

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the business development for Predicine’s portfolio of biomarker solutions including NGS liquid biopsy genomic assays across Predicine’s biopharma client base. You will gather clients’ biomarker-driven trial needs, help educate and build relationships/partnerships in support of clients’ clinical trial programs through Predicine’s biomarker solution portfolio.

As a key member of Predicine’s global Business Development team, you will provide the voice of customer, help shape the product strategy to meet biopharma customer need, and contribute to other strategic projects within the BD group and across the entire global organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify areas of alignment between Predicine’s assay portfolio, oncology development and commercial portfolio of your biopharma accounts to generate new business opportunities that contribute to the biopharma group goals.
• Interact with internal subject matter experts at biopharma companies to develop and execute partnerships within the organization and execute business development activities for your accounts.
• Develop relationships with clients, identify, and support additional value-creation opportunities across the bioparma solutions portfolio.
• Drive progress for defined partner strategies, proactively raise issues, propose and execute solutions.
• Contribute to the overall development of the biopharma solutions portfolio and support strategic transactions beyond the direct biopharma business line.
• Provide exceptional leadership for translating innovative liquid biopsy technology to advance clinical biomarker assessment in personalized cancer care and oncology clinical trials
• Provide exceptional business leadership within company, particularly to groups of other functions in product development.
• Participate in, or lead, disease focused translational biomarker product development. Support scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of the company.
• Prepare high quality scientific, technical or medical materials.
• Represent the company externally through presentations at key national/international meetings. Interact with key partners.

• Degree in life sciences preferred, BA, MS, PhD, or MD degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g. pathology, molecular biology, cancer genetics, cancer biology, molecular oncology).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, and basic, clinical or translational research either in an academic and/or biopharma industry setting; experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals or clinical diagnostics is preferred
• Experience in clinical practice or drug development is beneficial, including basic or advanced understanding of critical development functions, e.g. oncology biomarker development, clinical trials, targeted therapy, immune-oncology, etc.
• Enthusiastic, confident, and dedicated to work in a cross-functional team setting involving R&D, product development, finance, legal, marketing, and other groups.

Job Description

Predicine is looking for a Sales Associate to develop our COVID19 business for our high-sensitivity molecular and antibody COVID-19 testing products and services. The Sales Associate will work closely with the Head of Global Alliance Management and marketing, technical support teams to generate new leads, qualify opportunities, organize and facilitate meetings with potential clients, and close deals across a variety of client types. The right candidate will be superb comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have experience in the healthcare (and laboratory) industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a prioritized list of target clients across a variety of segments including health systems, state and local governments, universities, travel industries, retail chains, banks, etc.
• Generate and qualify new leads through proactive outreach efforts as well as management of inbound leads from existing customers in the territory
• Qualify leads, set up and facilitate initial conversations to understand clients’ goals and pain points and introduce them to understand Predicine’s COVID-19’s offering
• Work closely with the internal team foster existing leads in addition to working cross-functionally with colleagues across the Predicine team
• Work with CRM and other analytics tools for lead management, pipeline tracking, reporting, etc.
• Deliver the revenue as the top priority

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare sales, laboratory specific, driving the sales process from lead generation to deal closing
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and presenting
• Ability to use online communication tools to build client relationships
• Comfortable working in a metrics-driven role and environment
• Highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Have experience using Salesforce Knowledge

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Travel: Approx. 80% online for first 6 months; 60% afterwards starting from July 2021
